Over the course of two unforgettable days, YBS Preschool, Elementary School, and Middle School came together to celebrate a very special milestone.
This year, 17 Preschool graduates, 6 Elementary School graduates, and the very first graduate of YBS Middle School took their next steps toward the future.
There were tears. There was laughter. There were moments of pride, gratitude, and reflection. Above all, there was love—the kind of love that fills a room when families, friends, and teachers gather to celebrate how far children have come.
A Preschool Graduation Filled with Love

The graduation ceremony for our oldest Preschool class, the Pythagoras Class, was perhaps the purest reflection of love.
Each child stood before their family and expressed their gratitude in English and Japanese.
Then, one by one, parents shared heartfelt messages with their children with a hug.
There were tears in parents’ eyes.
There were tears in teachers’ eyes.
And there were countless smiles throughout the room.
As we listened, we were reminded of something beautiful:
Children grow because they are loved.
The kindness they show.
The confidence they carry.
The courage they demonstrate.
All of these things are rooted in the love they receive from the people around them.
It has been our privilege to walk alongside these children and their families during some of the most important years of their lives.

For many children, this was the very first graduation ceremony they will ever experience.
For many parents, it was a moment they had imagined for years.
Being able to witness that milestone together is something we will always treasure.

Standing Tall on the Elementary School Stage

At the Elementary School Graduation Ceremony, six graduates stood proudly before their families and teachers, sharing their stories and dreams in English and Japanese.
Among them were students who had been with YBS since first grade.
We still remember the children who once hesitated to raise their hands, who were nervous to speak in front of others, and who were unsure of their own abilities.
Yet there they stood—confident, thoughtful, and courageous.
Watching them express themselves so naturally and confidently reminded us not only of how much they had grown, but also of the incredible journey we had shared together.

Although their paths now lead in different directions—YBS Middle School, schools on base, and even new lives overseas—they will always be connected by the memories they created as members of the Einstein Class.
Different backgrounds.
Different cultures.
Different stories.
Yet somehow, they became a family.
The friendships they built, the challenges they overcame, and the countless moments they shared will remain part of them wherever life takes them next.

Celebrating the First Graduate of YBS Middle School

This year also marked a historic milestone for YBS Middle School, which opened in 2025. We proudly celebrated our very first graduate.
The Middle School began with only six students. Together, students and teachers spent the year building something entirely new. Because of the small community, strong friendships and deep trust naturally developed.

During the ceremony, our graduate shared these words:
“Because my classmates were always there for me, I was able to do things I once thought I couldn’t.”
Those words perfectly captured a year filled with challenges, growth, encouragement, and teamwork.
As the first graduate of YBS Middle School, she helped create the foundation of our school’s culture. The courage to take on challenges and the commitment to supporting others will continue to inspire future generations of YBS students.

To Our Students as They Begin Their Next Chapter

Every graduation season brings special emotions.
Each year, children begin new chapters in their lives. Some graduate, while others move away due to family relocations or overseas transfers. Every farewell reminds us of how much they have grown.
We remember the child who cried on their first day because they couldn’t let go of their parent’s hand.
The child who felt uncertain speaking a new language.
The child who doubted themselves and feared new challenges.
And then, somehow, those same children grow into young people who laugh with friends, confidently share their ideas, and encourage others.
That is the story we celebrate at every graduation.

As our students move on to new schools, new friendships, and new adventures, we know there will be exciting opportunities ahead. There may also be challenges and difficult moments.
When those moments come, we hope they remember the warm Home they found at YBS.
The friends they laughed with.
The teachers who encouraged them to keep trying.
The moments when someone believed in them, even before they believed in themselves.
The time spent at YBS does not end with graduation.
Wherever life may take them, we hope those memories remain in their hearts, giving them the courage to overcome obstacles and the confidence to be themselves.
We will continue cheering for every student who has been part of YBS, and we hope YBS will always remain a place where families feel welcome to return.
Wherever in the world our students may go, we hope they continue to challenge themselves, shine brightly, and create futures filled with possibility.
